The Oyo State Police Command, on Monday confirmed the arrest the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NAN), Joint Campus Committee (JCC) in Oyo state, Comrade Asubiojo Olajuwon populary known as Marshal.
Speaking with our correspondent in a telephone conversation, the Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, said that Asubiojo was arrested in reaction to a petition filed by members of the association that he sold the association’s vehicle.
He said “He was invited, and his case is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Department (C.I.D) in reaction to a petition that he sold the association’s vehicle.”
Reports have it that Asubiojo was arrested on Saturday 12th October 2019, around 4pm during an executive meeting of Oyo NANS JCC, which was held inside the premises of Federal Cooperative College, Eleyele in Ibadan.
The reports added that the police arrested three of members of the executive at first before the General Secretary and the Welfare Director joined them at the station. After questioning and putting down of their statements, other members of the executive were released, while the Chairman and the Treasurer were detained.
