Sharafadeen Alli Promises To Re-absorb 10,000 Workers Sacked By Ajimobi

The Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP,Barr Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has allayed the fears of about ten thousand workers allegedly sacked by the Sen.Abiola Ajimobi led government of the APC promising to reabsorb them if elected as the governor of the state in the March 2 elections.

Barr Alli who was featuring on the gubernatorial debate organized by the Fresh FM, Ibadan made this promise when addressing questions on the welfare of workers and the pensioners.

The ZLP guber candidate reiterated his stand that workers will take their salaries on the twenty fifth of every month and in addition take thirteenth month salary at the end of every year as it is done in organized private sector.

He stressed that primary school teachers retiring will start taking their pensions immediately after retirement in their last school of service.


“When we got to government in 2003 under High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, we inherited an enormous amount of debts—arrears of salaries, leave bonuses, pensions and gratuties,we settled down to business and offset all the debts within a little period of time,no other government has done that again since we left office and this is what we want to bring back, no one else can boast of this antecedent.”


Barr Alli outlined three major areas through which his administration will provide jobs for the teeming youths in the state. He emphasised the need to regenerate the agricultural resources of Oke-Ogun area of the state, resusitate the agro allied industries, make use of IT which has been the major employment market in the advanced countries of the world.
