Farmers in Oyo State have been charged to report suspicious movement of fulani cattle rearers migrating to Oyo State from other parts of the country to Seriki fulani in their area.
The admonition was part of remark made by Sonmori Seriki fulani of Oyo State, Mammod Yusuf at a peace meeting held at Oke Ogun radio premises, Alaga.
While speaking after the meeting, Sonmori Seriki fulani, Mammod Yusuf said the meeting became imperative to achieve peaceful co existence and harmonious relationship between Farmers and fulani indegines as experienced in the past.
He said as the dry season is fast approaching, the association don’t want unnecessary clash or conflict between fulani cattle rearers and their host farmers.
Seriki Mammod Yusuf reiterated that the indigenous fulani can not fold their arms and watch strangers who migrate to Oyo State to truncate existing peace and unity between Farmers and indigenous fulanis.
He admonished farmers to report any destructive activities of herdsmen to Seriki fulani in their respective area for prompt action or settlement and not to take laws into their own hands.
Mammod Yusuf also used the occasion to call on fulani leaders across the state to warn their children to abide by every laid down rules in order to accomplish the vision of the association.
