Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan) has congratulated Muslims for being alive to witness this year’s Ramadan.

Lanlehin, who represented Oyo South Senatorial District between 2011 and 2015, reminded them to use the opportunity the holy month presents to fervently pray, not only for themselves, but also for Nigeria, especially at a time like this, when she seemed assailed by a retinue of challenges.

“I call on our Muslim brothers and sisters to remember our dear nation at this trying time, and pray that Almighty Allah show us compassion,” Lanlehin added.

While reminding Muslims to continue in efforts targeted at the peace, progress and prosperity of Nigeria, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) called on the well-to-do to remember the less privileged at this time by lending helping hands to them, so they themselves can have a Ramadan to remember.

Expressing happiness at the coincidence between this year’s Ramadan and the Christian Lent, he acknowledged that this, beyond doubt, is a show of God’s oneness and a further proof for both religions to live in harmony, while working together towards the nation’s growth and development.

Advising Muslims to, in the spirit of the month, concentrate on reading and recitation of the Holy Quran, as well as move farther away from sinful acts which the Almighty Allah frowns at, he opined that holiness and piety should be the watchword, in this month and beyond.

Senator Lanlehin (Solan), consequently prayed that Almighty Allah grant Muslims the wherewithal to undertake this month seamlessly and to reap the benefits therein, now and in the hereafter.
