The Oyo State Police Command on Friday said that about 10,000 officers from the command would be deployed for the conduct of the tomorrow’s Presidential and National Assembly elections across the 33 local government areas in the state.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shina Olukolu made this disclosure while speaking at a press conference held at the command’s headquarters in Eleyele Ibadan, the state capital.

Olukolu, while assuring residents of the state of adequate security, disclosed that the 10,000 officers would be deployed to mount strategic areas, polling units, voting points and various locations considered as flash points among others.

He said that patrol teams, which would provide security cover to the unarmed officers who will be at the various polling units to maintain law and order, would be stationed at various strategic areas and flashpoints in case of any breach.
