Family, friends and sympathisers were in tears as Fresh FM’s Olufemi Oluwajobi, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver on new year eve, was buried.
Popularly called Radio MD (music dynamite), the on air personality was said to be on his way to join some waiting friends at Palms Mall, venue of Ibadan Countdown when he was mauled by a drunk and reckless driver at Challenge area of Ibadan, a few minutes drive to his Fresh FM’s office.
He was said to have been rushed to the University Teaching Hospital where he eventually gave up the ghost.
At his burial, which took place inside Sango Cemetery, Ibadan, proprietor of Fresh FM, Dr. Yinka Ayefele almost betrayed emotion as he was surrounded by people, especially staff of the radio station.
Media practitioners, and particularly late Oluwajobi’s colleagues from other radio stations were at the brief funeral ceremony.
Many were crying uncontrollably as they remembered their last monent with the deceased.
