PDP Will Be Better Repositioned for 2023 After National Convention – Innocent Congratulates Makinde

The main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been tipped to overcome its internal leadership crisis in time ahead of the 2023 general election in the country.

This was contained in a congratulatory message to Oyo state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde by His special Assistant on OYSIEC, Hon. Tallest Innocent, following his appointment as the secretary of the National convention committee of the party.

The Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday appointed 128-member National Convention Organizing Committee headed by Governonr of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri, with Oyo state Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde as the secretary.

A 44-member committee Chaired by Enugu state Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi was also appointed by the party to determine the zoning formula for its positions.

The party announced the composition of the committees at its 93rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at its national secretariat in Abuja, presided over by the acting National Chairman, Yemi Akinwonmi.

Tallest maintained that Governor Seyi Makinde has gradually assumed a strategic position in the national structure of the party due to his diligence and sterling performance in office earning him the admiration of vast majority of party faithfuls across ethnic divides.

He expressed confidence in the ability of Governor Makinde to replicate the ease with which he has piloted the affairs of the state, to the National level of the party by ensuring a rancor-free process that will herald a new leadership for the party.

The convention of the main opposition party will hold on 30 and 31 October to elect new National Working Committee (NWC) members that will pilot the affairs of the Party.
