The Coordinator for the All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin has given assurance that the council would deliver at least Two million of the 3.3 million votes available in the state to the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima in the February 25 election, as APC holds mega Presidential Rally next Tuesday (February 7,2023) in Mapo, Ibadan.
Speaking at a parley with members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ in their Mokola, Ibadan office yesterday, Senator Folarin said that the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima has been well embraced by the overwhelming majority of people in the 33 local government areas of Oyo state.
Folarin who is also the gubernatorial candidate of APC in the state disclosed that his campaign activities, formal and informal meetings with various sets of people, community leaders, faith based leaders, traditional leaders, youths and students have all confirmed the profound popularity and acceptance the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shetttima is enjoying in Oyo State.
“Putting it modestly, Asiwaju and Kashim Shettima would win nothing less than 2 million votes in the election of February 25. Our people do not only love him, they are waiting anxiously for the day to come. We are already seeing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the President in waiting”.
The third term Senator, according to a statement issued by the Chairman of the Central Media Council for the Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, told journalists that the party has put up a strong campaign council led by seasoned politicians and veteran political campaign managers in persons of Dr. Isiaka Kolawole and Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe as Director General and Deputy Director General respectively that are working round the clock deploying functional stratagems winning hearts for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all our candidates across the state.
“For us in Oyo State, we are very confident of winning well for Asiwaju. Our members are working, members of other parties are also working and ready to vote for Asiwaju. Nonpartisan Nigerians of different origins and backgrounds are equally occupied for the success of Asiwaju at the polls.
As the State Coordinator of the APC Presidential campaign council, I am quite happy with the level of support Asiwaju is enjoying in the Pacesetter State. While I thank the good people of Oyo State for the support, I enjoin them to please come to Mapo en-masse, next Tuesday, 7th of February and show their love for the next president of Nigeria and his running mate.”
Senator Folarin disclosed that the presidential candidate and his entourage would on arrival Ibadan first pay homage to the Olubadan of Ibadan land, his Imperial Majesty Oba Mahood Lekan Balogun at his palace and also visit some eminent leaders in the state.
The APC gubernatorial candidate said that the APC mega rally would be tasteful and groovy as he assured of maximum security and effective human and traffic control throughout the rally.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Oyo state Correspondents Chapel, Raji Adebayo explained that the guest forum was part of his campaign promises to make the chapel robust and vibrant.
According to him, “Today is a fulfillment of one of the promises made when I was campaigning that I will make the Correspondents Chapel great and vibrant with the calibre of people that would be featuring on our Guest Forum, and here we are, the APC guber candidate is, and we are working assiduously to bring other candidates our programme, Speak Out “.
