The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abass Adigun, popularly known Agboworin, has secured employment at the National Taskforce Agency for some graduates in his constituency.
Agboworin, who is the vice chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Airforce, has spent over N150 million on youth and women empowerment as well as people with special needs.
He has supported market men and women with huge sum to boost their businesses and procured two mobile ambulances to facilitate quick access to basic medical care.
The lawmaker has also secured employment for graduates in his constituency into Nigeria Airforce, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Navy and National Identity Management Commission, since he was sworn-in as a member of the 9th Assembly.
Speaking during the presentation of the employment letters to the beneficiaries, Agboworin noted that beyond legislative and oversight duties, job opportunity/job creation is one of the reasons lawmakers were sent to the National Assembly.
He said: “What I am giving you today will last you for 35 years in service or 60 years of age. Whichever one come early, I want you to use this opportunity as federal civil servants to take care of yourself, your parents and your siblings,” Agboworin said.
The lawmaker promised that another round of employment letters would be distributed in few months time.
Mr Olukunle Olaide, who is one of the beneficiaries, and spoke on behalf of others, said: “I am most grateful for this opportunity. See what Hon. Abass Agboworin had given me after many years of searching for a job.”
