A social group with the name “The Concerned Youths Of Oke-Ogun” has sought the unanimous support of the Obas in Oke-Ogun for the son of the soil,  Hon Shina Peller towards the 2023 Election.

This was disclosed in an open letter to the council of Obas in Oke-Ogun, through the Chairman, Oba (Dr) Surveyor Kahlid Olabisi Ayinla Ado Ilugemidepo, the Okere Of Sakiland, in respect to the upcoming general election, and the need for the Obas to put their weights behind Hon Shina Peller, who wants to represent the Oyo North Senatorial district at the senate.

According to the letter, the group lamented how the Oke-Ogun aspirants contesting to get the ticket to represent Oyo North Senatorial have been marginalized in the race by political parties.

The group identified the population influence of Oke Ogun in Oyo North, as the region possess 10 out of 13 local governments, which the votes from Oke-Ogun has been helping the present occupant from the district win the seat over the years.

They said: “Oke-Ogun with 10 local governments out of 13 local governments areas should of Oyo North Senatorial district should not be considered inferior to those with just 3 local governments.

“The current occupant of Oyo North senatorial district lost the 3 local governments in his home town in 2015, it was the vote from Oke-Ogun that made him the winner.

“Also, in 2019, he one just one local government out of the 3LGs in his home town in his second term bid; he secured the bulk of votes from Oke-Ogun which made him win.”

The group called for the support of the royal fathers throughout the 10LGAs from Oke-Ogun to drum support for Hon. Shina Peller to liberate them from the “10 fooled by 3 Wise”.

They pleaded with the Obas to use their offices to narrow the senate ticket to only aspirant in Oke-Ogun, as the youths are ready to mobilize across Oyo North for the Oke-Ogun son.

“We the youths of Oke-Ogun implore you sirs to use your royal offices and influence to drum support for honourable Shina Peller to liberate us from this 10 fooled by 3 wise saying.

“Use your fatherly offices to narrow the senate ticket to only aspirant in Oke-Ogun irrespective of the political parties sirs.

“The Youths in Oke-Ogun are ready to mobilize across Oyo North for an Oke-Ogun son to be our next senator come 2023.” they added.

The group said Peller is a popular name in Oke Ogun and has political value across Oyo state.

“Honourable Shina Peller is a popular name in Oke-Ogun and have political value across Oyo State.

“Honourable Shina Peller hails from Iseyin (Oke-Ogun 1); His mother is from Kishi (Oke-Ogun 2) while he had both his first and masters degrees from LAUTECH, Ogbomosho. So he has ties with the 3 notable zones in the district. We are also moved by his sacrificial decision to jettison idea of returning to the house for second term.

“In fairness to Iwajowa and Kajola local governments who haven’t produced a representative for almost 16 years now. By this, he has demonstrated exemplary leadership that everyone crave for.

“Similarly, Honourable Shina Peller is more experienced as he had contested and won an elective post. Also, he is very young, agile and will always be there to represent the interest of not only the youth but all.”
