Oyo Govt. Says Environmental Sanitation Holds Tomorrow, Declares Movement Restrictions

Oyo state government has said that the monthly environmental sanitation holds tomorrow (Saturday).

 

According to a statement issued and signed by the Hon. Commissioner for the  Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola stated that the sanitation exercise would hold between the hours of 6:00am and 9:00am and there shall be total restriction of human  and vehicular movement during the exercise except those on essential duties.

 

The statement directs all the Local Government  Chairmen ,Local Council Development Area to ensure compliance in their respective domains, as it is expected that roads are blocked to refrain movements.

 

The Sister Agencies which include Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), Oyo State Waste Management Authority( OYOWMA) Environmental Health Officers of the Ministry would be on ground to monitor the compliance

 

The release also directs  all Directors of Environmental  Health Services in the 33 Local Governments and 35 Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) within the State to monitor the exercise as a matter of duty.

 

The Statement,  therefore,  enjoins shop owners, Market Men and Women, Security Operatives, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN),Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN), Association of Commercial Motorcycle Riders to comply to this directive as anyone caught contravening the order would be prosecuted according to the law.
