Oyo State government, through the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives has commenced the construction of a modern-slaughter Slab at Ogbomoso Utra – modern business complex.

The state commissioner for Trade, industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Princess Taibat Adeyemi- Agaba made the statement recently to intimate the general public about the update development of the state government’s ultra modern complex established to boost trade and investment in the state.

According to her, the ultra-modern business complex, Ogbomoso, (A Multi Million Naira project) was established in the year 2003 with the sole aim of developing trading activities in the Ogbomoso area.

She said, the complex was made up of six categories of shops, warehouse and Meat Shop, totaling 399 shops, with provision of Public Modern Toilets, Police Post, Electricity, Fire Station and dumping site.

She said: “Unfortunately, little trading activities have been recorded in the complex mainly because majority of the allottees have not taken full possession of their shops.

Following series of meeting with Stakeholders, particularly His Imperial Majesty, the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III. it was reasoned that for allottees to take up their Shops in the Complex Government would need to put in place at least a Slaughter Slab. This is expected to draw their commercial activities to the Complex. Other steps to resuscitate commercial activities in the Business Complex have commenced in earnest,”.
