Chieftains, members of the executive of the Peoples Democratic Party Oyo Federal constituency have affirmed Chief Bisi Ilaka as preferred candidate for Oyo Central senatorial district and thanked Governor. Seyi Makinde for his unrelenting support.
At a meeting which was attended by all People’s Democratic Part chairmen, local government chairmen and Oyo Federal constituency party stakeholders, Leaders, Elders and Executives of the party in the four local governments namely Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East and Oyo West held on Saturday, they affirmed their unalloyed support for the candidacy of Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka in the forthcoming elections.
This was made known in a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and made available to pressmen.
The speakers at the meeting thanked the Governor of the state for his meritorious impact in the federal constituency, particularly the giant strides in infrastructural development.
Also, they stressed that quality National Assembly representation as a necessary complement to the efforts of the state government in the District is very important.
Chief Bayo Elegbede, one of the leaders in the district, reiterated that all major stakeholders in Oyo Federal constituency were in full support of Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka’s candidacy in the coming elections.
He narrated Chief ILAKA’s philanthropic gestures in the senatorial district since 2006 as the reason for the full support he is enjoying, as those things cannot be swept under the carpet.
He thanked the Governor for his brilliant political permutation, and for supporting the Ladilu of Oyo kingdom, a true son of Oyo Alaafin, even when the going got tough.
The stakeholders showed their gratitude to the Governor by promising to ensure the PDP gets 90 percent of votes in the forthcoming elections.
They unanimously thanked Governor. Seyi Makinde and endorsed Chief Luqman Oyebisi ILAKA as the preferred candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial district for the next election.
