Some stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 10 local government areas of Oke-Ogun, Oyo state have expressed satisfaction with the processes through which Akinwale Akinwole emerged as Senatorial candidate of the party in Oyo North Senatorial District.

At the meeting held in Otu, headquarters of Itesiwaju local government, they unanimously adopted him as the candidate and pledged their unflinching support and commitment to the course of his Senatorial ambition.

At the meeting were all the 10 local government Council chairmen, party chairmen from all the 10 local governments as well as Senatorial chairman Alhaji Kunle Yusuff and all other state executives from Okeogun Zone.

The party chairman Alhaji Kunle Yusuff in his opening remark said they are pleased with the choice of Akinwole Akinwale was divine as there has never been a situation where all the council will unanimously agree on a candidate.

“Our leader, Senator Hosea Agboola, has discussed this with us, he didn’t impose you on us we deliberated on it, weighed options and we all agreed that you are our choice and with your presentation, we are convinced with the fact that you are an omoluabi.

“We are confident of delivering the 10 local governments for you, all you need to do is to go and work in Ogbomoso, and don’t betray the confidence we are reposing in you.”

The council and party chairmen with the Senatorial executive however signed his nomination form.

In his response, Akinwale appreciated the council Chairmen and party leaders for the privilege and promised to be committed to the advancement of the party and development in the Senatorial district, Oyo state, and Nigeria at large.

He however urged them to continue to support the state Governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinde and pray for his success in office and victory in his reelection bid.
