Speaking during a press conference held on Thursday, the chairman for the conference, Abdullahi Lasisi said the conference is aimed to empower young individuals with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in the digital age.

Lasisi urged the government to prioritize and invest in digital infrastructure development in order to equip many young individuals with the necessary digital skills who recognize the immense potential of the digital economy in driving economic growth and job creation.

“We expect the government to do more in the area of infrastructure, and we have hope that the current administration will embark on initiatives that promote the digital economy and invest more in infrastructure.” He said.

He added that the youth conference organized by NASFAT would provide a platform for young individuals to engage in discussions, gain valuable insights, and equip themselves with essential skills for success in the digital age.

“With the rapid transformation of industries worldwide, the conference underscored the importance of the government’s role in creating an enabling environment that supports youth innovation and entrepreneurship.”

Also speaking, Kabir Raji, the National Youth Secretary of NASFAT, highlighted the significance of this year’s conference theme.

He said: “The theme serves as a reminder for all of us to step out of our comfort zones, challenge ourselves, and strive for excellence in all aspects of our lives.”

He further highlighted the impact of the NASFAT Youth Conference in shaping the lives of countless young people.

These initiatives include free medical tests, community clean-ups, and public awareness campaigns on important issues.

The upcoming conference in Ibadan promises to build upon the successes of previous editions and inspire attendees to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence in the digital economy.
