To ensure continuity of development of the State four cardinal development points, Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, revealed intention of his administration to increase performance of the state’s budget to 75 percent.

Makinde gave the revelation through his Special Assistant on Economic Affairs, Babatunde Musibau, in Oyo town, during the stakeholder consultative meeting on 2022 budget, upon which deliberations has earlier been held in other zones of the State.

Musibau, while speaking with critical stakeholders at Oyo, stated that as at the second half of year 2021, the state’s budget performance reached 60 percent, stressing that the increment necessitated the resolution of the current administration to jerk-up the appropriation bill’s performance.

He stressed that the four cardinal points the current administration is standing on include Health, Education and improvement of the economy through agri-business.

“We have achieved 60% performance of the 2021 budget at the first half of the year, that gives the assurance that we can always do better.

“It is the people’s budget, that is why we are here to interact with the critical stakeholders, to get their inputs and get the State moving.”

Also speaking during the programme, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Budget and Economic planning, Mofoluke Adebiyi, noted that governance processes involves the participation of the residents in the efforts to address their needs, which she said must be of paramount interest to every responsible government.

She said further that the reason behind the all-important consultative meeting is to reach out to members of the Public to access their yearnings for development of the people.

Attendees at the meeting which include Royal Fathers, religious leaders, Gender-advocates, Youths and other important members of the society requested for all-inclusive programmes in the current administration for the betterment of all.
