Presenting the cheque to the children at a very brief event held at the Jericho G R.A office of the club, on behalf of the Governor, the Executive Chairman of 3SC, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan, said the development, was in fulfilment of the governors’ promise to compensate the children of the late 3SC boss.

He said: “We note that under him (Balogun), Shooting Stars Sports Club recorded many successes, the recent one being the promotion of the club, from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after spending four (4) years in the lower cadre.

“In view of this and in fulfilment of his promise to compensate his family, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Abiodun Makinde, has graciously approved the sum of five million naira (#5,000000.00), to be given to his children.

“On behalf of Engineer Seyi Makinde, the promise keeper, the Executive Governor of Oyo State and the good people of the state, we hereby present the cheque to you, his children, and wish you  success in your future endeavour”, said Akoro, as the 3SC Chairman is fondly called.

Responding on behalf of the children, late Balogun’s eldest son, Razaq, who collected the cheque alongside his sibblings, Rilwan and Rukayat, expressed the appreciation of the Balogun family to Governor Makinde for his kind gesture, even as he thanked the entire management and staff of 3SC.
