A former Personal Assistant to late former governor Lamidi Adesina, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, was yesterday inaugurated as chairman of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission.
At the event which took place inside The Presidency, the Lanlate-born politician took the oath alongside other committee members.
For many months, insideoyo.com gathered, there were bids to stop Ibikunle\’s nomination.
Ibikunle, who is eyeing Oyo South senatorial seat in the 2019 election, is believed to be respected among members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State. He is said to be close to APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola of Osun.
At his inauguration yesterday were senator representing Oyo Central senatorial district, Hadjia Monsurat Sunmonu, governorship aspirant on the plaftorm of APC, Prof. Adeolu Akande and other politicians from the South West region.
Speaking during the inauguration of chairmen and members of board of agencies in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha warned new board chairmen and members of government agencies against corrupt practices.
The present administration, he said, has zero tolerance for corruption.
He recalled that on the last working day of 2017, President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of chairman and members of the boards.
According to him, the list had received several comments from the public.
The SGF also said further work was carried out to ensure that equity and justice guided the composition.
Mustapha said he issued a circular that all ministries must conclude their board inauguration on or before March 9.
He said: “As you are all aware, the present administration has zero tolerance for any form of corruption and this stance must not be compromised in anyway.
“Government will frown at and punish corrupt practices perpetrated by any board member as well as the management team of these agencies.”
The SGF also warned the chairmen against meddling in the day to day running of the agencies.
