InsideOyo has uncovered details of the meeting between Governor Abiola Ajimobi and Oyo lawmakers.
It was learnt that many of them did not honour the invitation as they preferred to stay in their offices.
Sources told this medium how the lawmakers were invited to the Governor’s office immediately Ajimobi arrived from his foreign trip on Monday.
The governor and the lawmakers have not been having it good following the inauguration of two chairmanship nominees who were found ‘unappointable’ and the substitution of a certified nominee with another one, who was not screened by the lawmakers.
The governor, it was gathered, immediately left the country after inaugurating the caretaker chairmen.
Irked by the action, the lawmakers invited some top officials of the government for investigation as to how the ‘unappointable’ chairmanship nominees were inaugurated.
Thinking that the report of the committee on ethics may indict the top officials, Ajimobi, it was learnt, had invited the lawmakers on the need to appeal to them to ‘temper justice with mercy‘.
The governor, Inside Oyo was informed, promised to deliver his ‘promises’ to members of the house, adding that they need him just like he needs them.
One of the sources said: “At the meeting, the governor used carrot and stick approach. Not all members were in attendance. He told them that if they do anything that may jeopardize the chances of the party as 2019 beckons, they will have themselves to blame as he is completing his term.”
Inside Oyo gathered that the lawmaker’s entitlement of official cars have not fulfilled due to the economic hardship faced by the country. The governor, sources disclosed, have approved it but however, begged for more time.
The source added that “the governor also promised to allocate land to the lawmakers, especially the first-term members among them, adding that the second-term members have been allocated plots during their fist tenure.
Many citizens of the state, who had come in large numbers to Tuesday’s plenary were disappointed when the house adjourned sitting, without the report being read.
