Court of Appeal in Ibadan has reserved judgment on the appeal of Governor Abiola Ajimobi against the judgement of the Oyo State High Court on the twenty one kings in Ibadan.
InsideOyo.com gathered that the panel headed by Justice Nonyerem Okorokwo reserved the judgement after listening to argument of parties in the case.
Earlier, counsel to Senator Rasheed Ladoja, who is the respondent in the case, Mr. Micheal Lana urged the court to stay the proceeding on
the appeal pending the determination of the appeal on the ruling of the court appeal in April at the Supreme Court.
Moving his stay of proceeding application, Mr. Akinyele, said granting the application would give them the sense of fair hearing.
Mr. Akinyele, who just took over the case from former counsel, Mr. Micheal Lana also appealed to the court to adjourn the case for him to study the case Opposing the application, counsel to Governor Abiola Ajomibi, Mr. Yusuff Ali described the application as delay tactics by the respondent to frustrate the appeal.
Mr. Ali said the application was the fifth attempt by the respondent to delay the hearing of the appeal.
Counsel to the head commission of enquiry, which reviewed the chieftaincy law of Oyo State, Justice Boade, Mr. Seun Abimbola, urged the court to hear the appeal, considering the political trend of the state.
Ruling on various arguments, the panel headed by Justice Nonyerem Okorokwo dismissed the application on the ground that the appeal was filed out of time.
