The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Tuesday declared that he has no plans to probe incumbent, Governor Abiola Ajimbi if he becomes next governor of the state.

The PDP governorship candidate said this while responding to questions from representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Jobele, Afijio local government area, Oyo state,

New Nigerian Newspaper reports that he said if elected into power as the next governor of Oyo state, his administration’s commitment will be on how to move the state forward and not devoting his time on probing the immediate past administrations in the state.

“I will not spend my time probing the last government. I don’t have that time. If you look at our manifesto, we are talking about accelerated development, that means knowing where we can get the brains that can assist us. That is going to be our focus.”, he said. .

Engineer Makinde added, “some people have done it in the past, they don’t recover anything and when they recover it was looted again. So,it’s a waste of time. We are going to write skate clean and start all over.”

Speaking on the security situation in Oyo state, the PDP governorship candidate said, ” my own idea of security is when the rich and the poor can both go to bed and sleep well but the situation we have now is that the both categories of people cannot sleep.

“To deal with security is not about placing CCCTV camera at three places in Ibadan. To deal with security, you have to deal with the economy and get our economy to work. Our youth must be able to contribute, they are wishing to contribute to the economy but the opportunity doesn’t just exist. We have to put them to work. When I look at them, I don’t see individuals, but what I see are potentials that are locked inn which we need to unlock an then unleash them into the economy and the society will start moving again.”

The PDP governorship candidate then assured the people of Oyo state that his administration will definitely review the security level in the state with the aim of securing lives and properties better in the state.
