Hon Hussaini Yusuf Ijabah has won the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, ticket for Irepo, Oorelope, Olorunsogo Federal Constituency ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Ijabah who hails from Kisi in Irepo local government area was declared winner by the Returning officer, Mr. Abdul Jelil Adewole having won 87 votes out 93 votes on Sunday.
While giving his acceptance speech, Ijabah pledged his loyalty to his constituents and promised to bring back the needed development and social change in all the facets of their communities.
He urged all party members and faithful to double their efforts towards ensuring victory for Governor Seyi Makinde and other PDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
He thanked the Governor, party leaders, stakeholders, members, supporters, well-wishers for their supports.
He said: “Distinguish party leaders and members of our great party I feel greatly honored and previllege to have won your support and votes to emerged at today’s primary to represent the good people of Irepo Orelope and Olorunsogo Federal Constituency in the 2023 General elections and by the grace of God in the National Assembly. In deed it’s a turning point in the phase of our politics and a louder sound that we want to do it differently this time around.
“Today I humbly and gracefully accept the responsibility and burden of the leadership that is placed on me as the PDP candidate in 2023 General elections and your Representative in the National Assembly in shaa Allah.
“I want to most profoundly give thanks to Almighty Allah for His Grace and Mercy to have led us this far.
“My profound gratitude to our amiable leader and Governor, H.E Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for his immeasurable support and leadership of the State. I’m deeply grateful.
“To my party leaders both in the state and local governments, and all delegates and members of our great party for your commitment towards the success of the election.
“To Mr. Abdul Jelil Adewole, who is the returning officer for the election, for his steadfast during the exercise that produce me as the winner of the primary election after receiving 87 votes out 93 votes after which he declared me, Hon. Hussaini (Ijabah) as returned elected for PDP seat for the Constituency.
“However our job is just starting while we look forward to a glorious day and victory at the general elections, we must not relent in our efforts in mobilizing support for the victory of our Governor and indeed our Constituency and overall victory of our part at all levels.
“I challenge all of us to double up our efforts and loyalty to the party and the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde for victory PDP in the 2023 general elections.
“On my part I pledged my unalloyed loyalty to you (my Constituency) and indeed to leverage on the opportunity provided by the seat to bring back the needed development and social change in all the facets of our communities.
“I will give you quality representation that would fast track rapid infrastructural development, job creations, education, socio-economic interventions and agricultural development for the Constituency and Oyo State in general.
