The Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has described Senator Solagbade Olufemi Lanlehin as a consumate professional, astute politician and a stateman par excellence.

Chief Adebayo Adelabu stated this in a congratulatory message sent to Senator Olufemi Lanlehin on his 68th birthday, which was made available to journalists by Comrade Femi Awogboro, one of Adelabu’s media assistants on Thursday.

According to Chief Adelabu, Senator Lanlehin is a man full of wisdom and a force to reckon with in the politics of the South West.

He said that Lanlehin is one of the few elderly politicians whose styles and ways are worthy of emulation adding that he’s never desperate but passionate about instituting societal revolution through political office

“History will never forget the immense contributions of the father of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Late Chief Samuel Owoola Lanlehin who was a member of the Western Regional House of Assembly between 1950 to 1954 and the National Treasurer of the Action Group of Nigeria. Years after, his son Solagbade Olufemi Lanlehin became a member, House of Representatives between 1992 until November 1993 under Social Democratic Party representing Ikeja Federal constituency and later as a Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District between 2011 to 2015. We can all see that politics and public service run in the family”, Adelabu said.

“My grandfather, Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu and the father of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Late Chief Samuel Lanlehin were among the finest Ibadan born politicians with interest of Ibadanland held supreme in their hearts”, Adelabu added.

The 2019 Governorship Candidate of APC wished Senator Olufemi Lanlehin more fruitful years on earth in good health and abundant blessings.

Adelabu said the return of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and his numerous supporters to the progressive fold has already become a headache for some political parties in Oyo state.

“My dear Egbon, once again I am wishing you many more prosperous years ahead in good health, sound mind and flourishing soul”, Adelabu prayed.
