Former Attorney General of Oyo state, Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo, has urged Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state to hand over other public schools to interested alumni associations, community associations and also religious / faith institutions.

He made this known in a statement made available to insideoyo.com on Thursday following the state government’s announcement of handing over of Government College, Ibadan to its alumni association.

Adebayo Ojo who commended the Governor for the initiative said “it’s a way to go in view of the dwindling revenues and  resources of the governments at all levels and ever increasing demands of the government needs and provisions”

The statement read in full: “It gladdens my heart to read in the news yesterday the landmark decision of Oyo State Government to hand over Government College, Ibadan to her  Old Boys to manage, operate and develop. This is is a very commendable and laudable policy.

“I want to appeal to Engineer Oluseyi  Abiodun Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State to kindly further continue with this great policy by hand over other public schools to other interested alumni associations, community associations and also religious / faith institutions who are equally interested in managing , operating and developing their schools and institutions.

“This is the way to go in view of the dwindling revenues and  resources of the governments at all levels and ever increasing demands of the government needs and provisions.

“Once again, I salute GSM on this policy.”
