Son of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Hon. Olamiju, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, Engr. Taiwo Fawole, Hon. Jonathan Ogundiwin, Gbenga Ogunleye, Fadoyin and Adeniran Asif and other All Progressives Congress, APC, chairmanship and councillorship aspirants may not contest the primaries of the party and May 12, 2018 council election.
These and many other party members can only contest only if the leadership of the APC in Oyo State is prevailed upon to reopen sales of nomination forms for chairmanship and councillorship aspirants, especially those who just defected into the party. They may not participate in the party primaries scheduled to hold before February 14, 2018.
Insideoyo.com‘s investigation revealed that Olamiju, who sits as the caretaker chairman of Ogbomoso North local government did not submit his nomination form which he obtained through his friend and son of late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola, Umar who may also contest the chairmanship position of Ibadan North local government.
Ex-caretaker chairman of Ibadan North West local government, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, insideoyo.com reliably gathered, will not contest the primaries due to his alleged victimisation. Not long ago, he has had cause to be a guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Special Financial Intelligence Unit, SFIU and others, coming out ‘unscathed’.
Olatubosun was the only aspirant who obtained and submitted nomination form before the deadline. It was, however, learnt that Olatubosun’s successor, Bashorun Bosun Ajuwon, was given nomination form after the deadline, though ‘order from above’. Engr. Taiwo Fawole, a former special adviser to Governor Ajimobi, who is also from the council, was said to have obtained nomination form but did not submit when it was obvious that Ajimobi would not give his ‘blessings’.
It was however unsure whether Olatubosun, who is former publicity secretary and secretary of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has his eyes on the Ibadan North West/ South West federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Hon. Jonathan Ogundiwin was council secretary when the nomination form was form, not knowing he was going to be made caretaker chairman of Ibadan North East local government. He did not obtain nomination form. This is just the case of caretaker chairmen of Ibadan South West and Akinyele Central local government, Hon. Gbenga Ogunleye Ibadan and Fadoyin respectively.
