A former lawmaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon Ayobami Ojo has renovated non-functioning boreholes in the Ago Are community, in ATISBO local government area of the state.
The lawmaker who represented ATISBO, Saki East State Constituency has in the past few weeks embarked on general renovation of boreholes in Ago Are community irrespective of who facilitated or constructed the borehole.
Ayobami Ojo, while speaking with journalists, said his desire to tackle the water challenges facing the community made him embark on the renovation.
He said that he won’t relent until the challenges have been overcome finally.
He also called for support for all the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP at the 2023 general elections.
While inspecting and commissioning one of the boreholes, Governor Seyi Makinde commended the lawmaker for his move to address the water challenges in the community.
The Governor whose campaign train was in Ago Are on Monday said the former lawmaker’s move is commendable adding that despite not holding any political office, he was still able to give back to his people.
Makinde urged other politicians and philanthropists to emulate this kind of gesture as demonstrated by him.
