As Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-l-fitri, a former Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor, Professor Adeolu Akande has admonished Muslims to adhere to the lessons learnt during the holy month of Ramadhan.
This, according to the Otu-born politician, will help in the ongoing value and moral re-orientation of Nigerians, especially the youth.
Akande, who is a governorship aspirant under the platform of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, advised them on the need? to be patriotic in line with the spiritual renewal they key have undergone, urging them to ?reflect on the way they relate with each other, ?
He congratulated Muslims for their perseverance during the month, advising them to see ?fasting beyond mere deprivation of pleasures but also as a spiritual exercise to draw adherents nearer to God.
?Akande, who also teaches political science at the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, ?said that “we must also not forget to pray and support our leaders. When they lead well, we will rejoice. They cannot do it alone, they need our prayers.”
