Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso has compounded the woes of Word Of Life Football Club of Oghara, Delta State at the Soun Township Stadium in Ogbomoso on Sunday 23rd June, 2019 in the Group B4 Week Eight (8) match fixtures of the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The Ajilete Warriors who took the kick off spent the first thirty eight (38) minutes showing the spectators classical and enterprising game but the few golden and begging chances could not be converted into the needed goals which made the teeming crowd a bit angry.
The few touches, well coordinated passes and perfect defending prowess by the Bible Crusaders from the thirty nineth (39th) minute saw the spectators stand in ovation for the visitors.
The first half ended in a stalemate and the lovers of good football having got the value for their fees and precious time, stood up to clap for the guests as they entered the dressing room.
The substitutions of Christopher Nwaeze and Ahmed Yahya for Monsuru Rafiu and Chibuike Nwankwo strengthened the defense of the Ajilete Warriors and intensified pressure up front as Chibuike Nwankwo continued with his on the air finishing passes and kept pacing Egoride Gbenetga and Sadjini Deffiney tirelessly.
The first goal of the encounter came in the forty nineth (49th) minute when a pass to Francis Olanrewaju was crossed to Chibuike Nwankwo. He expertly chested the ball, sharp turned and left footed the ball pass Tejiri Raiogbere,whose stretch could not prevent the ball from entering the net.
Good calculation and well sharpened and shapened reflexes of Adeniyi Adejare ,the captain and goal keeper of Crown FC, prevented the close range missile by Azuka Ebinoun in the box that would have been an equaliser for the Word Boys in the fifty third (53rd) minute.
Chibuike Nwankwo made a sharp run to nod home a cross by Oginni Olatunbosun in the fifty sixth (56th) minute to double the lead for the Ajilete Warriors.
Chibuike Nwankwo, Isah Seidu and Adeyemi Adeyeye with their sharp turns, perfect header and well coordinated passes kept tormenting the defense line of the Bible Crusaders thereby turning them to wrestlers until the second minutes in the three (3) minutes of added time when Francis Olanrewaju put an icing on the cake for the Ajilete Warriors by crossing into the net a rebound from Adeyemi Adeyeye’s shot that hit the cross bar after sizing Jessa Isaac to make it three (3) goals for Crown FC.
