Nigeria’s Communications Minister, Barrister Adebayo Shittu today received Honorary Doctorate of Public Administration in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
At the maiden convocation of the West African Union University, Cotonou, Republic of Benin, the Saki-born minister alongside the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu and other notable Nigerians were conferred the award by the institution.
The Minister was given the honorary doctorate degree for his extraordinary contribution in the promotion of education and ICT. The award was presented by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Olúsolá Eyindero.

While speaking, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Eyindero remarked that the conferment of the degree on Barrister Shittu who has through his actions of unceasing dedication to the betterment of human race proved that service to humanity is very crucial.
A convocation lecture was delivered by Mr. Femi Falana, SAN yesterday Friday, 26th January, 2017 titled “Politics of Education in developing world: African Perspective”
In a related development,the minister, Barrister Adebayo Shittu; Ondo State governor, Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu; Human Rights Activist, Barrister Femi Falana, Human right Activist paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian embassy in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. They were received by Ambassador Kayode Immanuel, Ambassador of Nigeria to Benin Republic.
