The Oyo state House of Assembly has directed its Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy to investigate the reason for non compliance to the directive of the House by the 13 suspended caretaker chairmen.
This is coming after a letter from the Forum of Local Government Chairmen, Oyo state chapter signed by Hon Emmanuel Alawode, caretaker chairman of Ibadan South East local government area.
The letter which was read at the plenary on Tuesday stated administrative lapses as the reason the chairmen didn’t submit the earth moving equipments as directed by the House.
Alawode urges the House to re-consider its decision and allow the suspended chairmen to resume and continue saddled responsibility.
The letter reads in part: “We therefore appeal to your good office to temper justice with mercy and avail our colleagues the opportunity of returning to their Council areas.”
