Nursing mothers who were fortunate to be at Comprehensive Health Centre, Odinjo got what they did not expect as the lawmaker who represents Ibadan South East 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Akeem Ademola Ige,assisted them.
Ige, a former chairman in the council areas, had paid an unscheduled to the medical facility which his administration built when he was the council boss.
Expressing joy that the health centre remains the best and most effective in the area, he commended professionalism of the health officials.
“Despite being owed about nine months salary arrears by the state government, you are still discharging your duties effectively as expected, to ensure safe and successful delivery of the pregnant women,” he said.
The lawmaker, who is a former student leader, thereafter gave cash gift to a woman, Mrs Ogunleke Olaitan who had just being delivered of a baby boy, and other nursing mothers that were on ground during the visit.
Appreciating the gesture on behalf of other nursing mothers, Mrs Ogunleke said the new baby was her second successful delivery in the maternity centre.
She lauded Ige for building the health centre for the people in the area, stressing that a lot of women who could not afford bills in the private hospitals have benefited immensely from the health facility.
