The inauguration of the campaign was made shortly after the unveiling of the Oyo state accord gubernatorial running mate held at the Adebayo Adelabu office, Jericho, Ibadan, on Thursday.

Prof. (Mrs) Abiodun Ayandele, a pure and applied biology professor, who hails from Ogbomoso Town, was unveiled as the deputy governorship candidate of the party at the event.

Speaking at the event, Accord governorship candidate, Cheif Bayo Adelabu, said that the party has no fewer than 10,000 members of proven integrity, who were carefully selected to be on the campaign council.

The governorship candidate said that the party was progressing with quality members defecting to the party on daily basis.

He said that the party remained a major force in the state, assuring members of victory in the forthcoming General Election.

Chairman of the council, Senator Adeseun, in a remark, said the Accord Party was in a vantage position to win the next election, noting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is dead while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faced internal issues that will work against the party in the election.

Adeseun called for synergy among the candidates and members of the party in the state ahead of the polls.

He lauded the party members for their untiring campaign, saying that they need to intensify efforts for their candidates to emerge victorious in the election.

Speaking after her unveiling as running mate, Prof. Ayandele pledged to work with the party’s governorship candidate, Adelabu, to achieve the party’s entire manifesto.

She pledged to be the voice of the women, reduce maternal mortality, improve the state of primary health care centres, and ensure job creation through technology and industrialization.

Ayandele said the Accord Party is in the right position to win the next election and return Oyo State to its pacesetter status and days of glory.

The deputy chairman of the campaign council, Chief Sanda, Ajaja and a former Speaker of the State Assembly, Olagunju Ojo, in their separate remarks, urged members to intensify their campaign strategies.

The Director general of the council Adegoke promised to perform his responsibility with passion for the victory of all Accord candidates in the state.

He urged all members to unite and intensify their campaign, saying that all the party’s candidates must emerge victorious in the general

Adegoke said all members of the party must unite to embark on the huge work to campaign for votes that lie ahead.

“With unity of purpose and synergized efforts, the Accord Party is poised to win the next governorship election and other elective positions in the state”.

Special adviser to Late Gov Abiola ajimobi, Mr Tunji Bolaji was also appointed as the Chairman, media and publicity committee as well as former notable APC stalwarts hold various positions in the campaign council

The unveiling was attended by all candidates of the party vying for either national assembly or state assembly seats.

Also present were leaders of the party like the former speaker of the state assembly, Honourable Olagunju Ojo; Mr Lekan Adeyemo; Mr Ayo Sanda; Mr Kunle Jenrade and Honourable Fatai Adesina.
