#FundLAUTECH, an initiative by alumni of the Ladoke Akintola University, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, towards solving the funding problem rocking their alma mater got another boost as the CEO of ACE Supermarkets, Mr Yinka Afonja donated the sum of N500,000 today.
#FundLAUTECH, an initiative to generate fund through donations, was launched in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, last week.
Insideoyo.com reported on Wednesday that the former governor Rashidi Ladoja and 8 Accord lawmakers in the Oyo State House of Assembly donated close to N7 million to the initiative.
While issuing the cheque, Afonja empathized with the over 30,000 students of institution who he said have had to bear the brunt of the closure of the University.

During the discussions preceding the presentation, one major highlight was the impact of the closure on the economy of the host town. Afonja, who is an employer of labour, also mentioned how he was impressed by the graduates LAUTECH has produced especially in the ICT sector.
