Providence brought them together. It was in April, 2017 when Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State announced them as caretaker committee chairmen of their respective local government areas.

Niyi Adeagbo, Wasiu Owolabi and Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala are council bosses at Itesiwaju, ATISBO and Ogbomoso local government areas respectively.

?Read about them:

NIYI ADEAGBO:

Hon. Adeniyi Adeagbo, a  Nigerian businessman, politician and philanthropist, ?is armed with a B.Sc and M.Sc degree from the University of Ibadan with BSc. He is psychologist and expert in legal criminology and security psychology.

The 41-year old Otu-born politician who founded Ardenil Secure, which is now rebranded as Ardenil-Scott and Homes, was first appointed a board member of Oyo State Rural Electrification Board until his latest appointment as Caretaker Chairman of Itesiwaju LGA.

Adeagbo is generally known as a goal-getter in every mission he finds himself.

90 DAYS ACHIEVEMENTS AS CARETAKER CHAIRMAN

">

Giving stewardship report is not a voluntary exercise for any public office holder; therefore it is my constitutional duty to account for what I have done in within the 3 months of my reappointment as Caretaker Chairman of Itesiwaju LGA. Though I have not delivered on all my campaign promises, we are “work-in-progress” mode in  Itesiwaju LGA. Glory is to Almighty God and thanks to my Executive Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi for being there since my appointment. We are making appreciable progress in the areas of agriculture, compulsory and qualitative basic education, excellent primary health care, security of lives and property, grading of local roads, sinking and rehabilitation of boreholes, adequate welfare of workers, recommendation of our women and youths for employment and empowerment opportunities, conflicts and crises resolutions; free exercise books for students, ten (10) of our people benefited from Oyo State Ministry of Agriculture Employment Programme, five (5) of our people were also recommended for Federal Government loan programme, successful organisation of 2nd Itesiwaju Inter-School Essay, Debate and Quiz Competitions and sinking of boreholes in across the LGA.

Within the three months under review, we hosted a foreign investment firm named Allied Atlantic Distilleries Ltd to commence full operations in Itesiwaju LGA, courtesy of Oyo State Govt. The investor is an international agro-allied firm specialise in cassava cultivation to produce Ethanol, Starch, Carbon Dioxide and other cassava-related goods. By the time the firm kick off, the council will not be only industrialised  but our people will be gainfully employed. Once again, I give kudos to Governor Ajimobi for his unfailing determination to improve agriculture and industrialise Oyo State.

However, it is expedient to state that our noble achievements have not come without their accompanying daunting challenges but I will make mention of just one. We are faced with meager statutory allocation from the federal government owing to the full economic recession the country. Hence we setup a taskforce on Internally Generated Revenue. The Task Force is not being setup only to block leakages by 90% but also help in improving the council’s revenue generation. Thanks to Mr. Governor for believing in youth as agents of change; today we have proved the Doubting Thomas wrong with our performance.

On information, an area we consider as the nucleus of this administration, we have reposition the department and its activities in order to establish an effective communication and feedback process with members of the public.

We have held a series of talks with continental and local partners on investment opportunities in Itesiwaju LGA In the areas of agriculture, youth and women empowerment and a whole lot more. Three weeks ago, we were in Abuja to discuss  with the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD Nigeria).

I am pleased to say that Itesiwaju was the first out of 774 LGAs in the country to partner with NEPAD Nigeria and our youths and women are set to undergo skill and

vocational training owing to the partnership. I want to thank everybody for supporting us thus far and for being strong partners in progress. I thank Governor Abiola Ajimobi for giving me the opportunity to serve in his government as he renewed my appointment some days ago; I have the belief that our government will do much better.

Oniro of Otu, Oba Sunday Adepoju Comments:

“Hon. Adeniyi Adeagbo is a proud son of the soil and God-sent to Itesiwaju LGA. We’ve never had it so good in the council area until the appointment of the young and vibrant Omo Adeagbo by Governor Abiola Ajimobi. There is no denying the fact that Hon. Adeniyi institutionalised good governance in line with the much desired change  that the citizens of our council area yearn for.’Oba Sunday Adepoju (Oniro of Otu)

ALAO OLAMIJUWONLO AYODEJI (JP):

Olamiju, as he is fondly called?, is one of the sons of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala. He is currently occupying the same seat his father sat on 18 years ago, as caretaker chairman of Ogbomoso North LGA

An astute business professional, key philanthropist and politician like his father, he is a visionary and dynamic politician with strong persuasive instincts and extensive knowledge of local and international politics. He is really a change agent with sharp natural intellect and highly charismatic leader.

Before his political appointment, he was Chief Executive Officer, TDB Global Venture; Chairman Parrot FM Radio Station and Business Development Executive, Tulcan Energy Resources Limited.

Born three decades ago, he has a B.Sc (Computer and Information Sciences) in Lead City University, Ibadan before capping it with an M.Sc (Service Management) from the University of Buckingham

ACHIEVEMENTS AS CARETAKER CHAIRMAN IN 90 DAYS

So far so good, I am happy to be part of Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration and of course, with how the business of governance in Ogbomoso North LGA continued with me as helmsman, with God on our side, I am very much sure that our people will be more happier ever than before because we have so many in stock for them.

In Ogbomoso North LGA, we are steadily executing project based on critical assessment of the scenario we met on ground upon assumption of office in April of this year and my belief in the development of human capital. Within our 90days in office, we were able to achieve the following: Grading and Earthing of local roads, comprehensive refurbishment of classrooms, evacuation of refuse dumps within the council area, construction and clearing of drainages along major roads to avert flooding, empowerment of widows, purchase of new generator sets for our primary health centers and adequate security of lives and property.

Now that Mr. Governor has gracefully reappointed me for the next 4 months, so much resources and attention will be committed to education, health, social amenities, security, sports and employment of youths.

A constituent, Elder Banji Olorode, has this to say:

Administration Assessment by the Constituent:

“Frankly speaking, 90days are very short to gauge the competence and assess the achievements of Hon. Olamji Alao-Akala as a council boss. However, it is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that Ogbomoso North LGA is speedily enjoying socio-economic progress to the betterment of our people. We are grateful to Sen. Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi for giving us a young and vibrant Alao-Akala Junior as our council boss.’

OWOLABI WASIU AKOGUN

">

Wasiu who was born in the early 80s attended The Polytechnic Ibadan for his National Diploma in Science laboratory technology and ?before proceeding to Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin for his Higher National Diploma.

A comrade and unionist during his school days; he was National President, National Association of Oke ogun Students (NAOOS), Senate member, Federation of Oyo state Students Union (FOSSU) and Director of Mobilization, National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS ZONE C).

Apart from being a grassroots politician, Wasiu founded and leads a corporate organisation. Before his appointment as Caretaker Chairman of Atisbo LGA, he was Secretary to the same local council.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN 3 MONTHS AS CARETAKER CHAIRMAN

Within the three months of our administration, we can point at many masses-oriented projects executed and some are currently on-going.

To the glory of God and the benefits of the good people of Atisbo LGA, we graded 110km major roads: Nigeria-Benin, Irawo-Tede, Abaa’ Buremo and Adeoye village; this is to transportation of farm produces and to boost economic activities in the council area.

We employed about 300 citizens of the council on casual-staff status, timely payment of workers’ salaries and arrear, we opened centers for free N-Power registrations and drugs worth N1million were purchased for the main Clinic of the council.

Within the period, we constructed reinforced concrete retaining wall at Isale Adua – Tede; rubble stone drainage and culvert to control erosion at Ofiki river bridge; and ongoing construction of modern market and garage in Ago –Are. Based on the words of our visionary leader, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who constantly enjoins us to intensify internal revenue generation; we do not rely much on allocation from federation account, we setup a 15-man Committee to devise strategies to improve our internal revenue and I can tell you with pride that the move is already yielding the desired results.

Administration Assessment by A Constituent:

‘Hon. Owolabi Wasiu’s appointment Caretaker Chairman of our council area by His Excellency, Governor Ishaq Ajimobi was very timely. It was timely because Atisbo LGA needs a more vibrant leader like Hon. Akogun that can take her to the next levelof good governance. In his 3 months in office, Akogun has proved to us that he is indeed a serious and committed leader that can raise the bar of governance in Atisbo and we will continue to give him all the necessary supports for him to succeed. We are proud his little but very wonderful achievements so far.’ Hon Wale Badmus.
