A member of the Water Corporation Board of Oyo state, Rev. Dr Adenike Victor Tade, popularly known as Mama empowerment has called on the Christian folks not to see the involvement of Christians in politics as a sin to God’s kingdom.
Reverend Dr Adenike Victor-Tade made this call while speaking at the quarterly programme of Ona Iye Baptist Association in Ibadan which comprises fifteen Baptist Churches on Saturday.
Mama empowerment explained that it is very important for Christians to come out to change the ways and patterns of government in recent times as they are dwelling in the wisdom of God.
She added that many believe that Christians’ involvement in politics is a sin and they decided to do away with it.
While correcting the narrative and the primitive beliefs, Reverend Adenike maintained that politics is an avenue for a taste of good governance by Nigerians, noting that it is a means to give dividends of democracy to the people and better the lives of many at once.
“We are children of God and we must try to showcase God’s lifestyles to the government of this country. Christians who dwell in the word of God should not be scared; and with the church’s support, they can change so many things that have gone wrong in the country.”
Also speaking at the event, Rev. Dr S.A Adeboje, Pastor, Òkè Ado Baptist Church who also doubles as the moderator of the Association, said the church is not against any Christians contesting for any political post as they are children of God who will use the word of God to change the fact of the governance in the country.
He added that the church is ready to support anyone who intends to go in for any political post and they believe in their competencies.
“The church will support our members who intend to go out and change the fact of this country into a good. ”
“We believe in their competencies and we will pray to the Lord to guide them.”
At the event, Rev. Dr Adenike Tade used the opportunity to prepare the minds of the congregation for her ambition to contest in the coming election.
“I will be contesting In the coming election and I don’t want to say much about it for now.
Mama Empowerment added that she is giving out scholarships to 200 students in her forthcoming annual youth program tagged Olorun Ajulo coming up on 8th July 2022 at Felicia Hall Jogor centre from 9 pm till dawn.
