The Oyo State government has appealed to residents and the family claiming the ownership of a land situated at Soka area, Ibadan to remain calm and not taking laws into their hands pending the outcome of the government intervention of the land being disputed upon.

The Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Survey, Hon Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu stated this while addressing some residents of soka area who led a peaceful protest to the Governor’s office, Secretariat, Ibadan this morning over the step of the family who had come to forcefully take possession of the land on the ground that they were the original owners of said land having obtained court judgment.

While addressing the protesters, the Commissioner instructed them to address their complaint to his ministry in a formal letter with an assurance that the situation would be amicably resolved.

While advising them to avoid confrontations and remain peace abiding citizens while the issue is being looked into, Hon Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu equally enjoined them to continue to support governor Abiola Ajimobi led administration in his quest to restore peace and security in the State.

The protesters had earlier express their plight over land dispute resulting in the destruction of over forty buildings which have yet to be completed while others were forcefully locked up in the said area.
