One of the leading aspirants for Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Hon. Mrs Adebola Shakirat Adetunji, has picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms to contest in the 2023 general election.

After picking the forms at the APC Secretariat in Abuja, Hon. Shakirat decried the high level of infrastructural decay the constituency has suffered in the past and promised that her representation would attract government attention to the plight of the people, when elected.

Shakirat further stated that “Aside from being a grassroots politician, my ambition has also given me the privilege to travel round different communities and wards in my Constituency, during this period I’ve met with stakeholders and I’ve connected more with the grassroots.

“I can feel the pulse of the people and I’m so confident that I have what it takes to bring the desired development and dividends of democracy to the constituency.”

Speaking with newsmen shortly after picking her forms at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, she expressed regret that youth and women have suffered years of neglect in the country which according to her is why there is growing insecurity in the country.

She assured that it will be a new dawn for the people of Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency of Oyo State if she gets elected into the House of Representatives, noting that she will have a larger platform to take more youths and women out of labour market, empower women and roll out a robust welfare package for the aged in the constituency.
