Oyo State House of Assembly has inaugurated Mr Debo Ogundoyin of the Peoples Democratic Party as a lawmaker representing Ibarapa East State Constituency today.
Ogundoyin, who was sworn in by the Hon. Speaker, Hon. Olagunju Ojo, on Thursday, won the June 2, 2018 bye election in Ibarapa East State Constituency seat as a result of fallout and cracks in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Present at the inauguration were Chieftains of the party led by the state chairman, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha and others. Also, mother of the new lawmaker, Mrs Tina Ogundoyin, friends, wells wishers and supporters graced the occasion.
Recall that insideoyo.com had earlier reported that Ogundoyin who contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated seven other candidates including the candidate of the ruling party in the state, Kunle Adeyemo.
Ogundoyin was declared winner having polled 6277 votes, while APC’s Kunle Adeyemo came second with 4619 votes, Accord party’s Adepoju Adebodun Ademola came third with 2859. The total number of valid votes is 13871 and rejected votes is 308.

Debo Ogundoyin is one of the sons of the late foremost philanthropist and industrialist, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin. The businessman and politician, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, died 27 years ago when he was barely 4 years old.
