The Minister for Power and Steel, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, on Sunday 27th May, paid a condolence visit to the wife and children of the former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mr. Kole Ajayi.

Insideoyo.com gathered that Ajayi, a lawyer, reportedly died of heart attack on Friday while traveling to Lagos for a function of Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Association. He was 51 years of age.

The deceased was the National President of EKSU Alumni Association and a member of the institution’s Governing Council.
He was also the Publisher of the now rested EKITI NOW Newspaper. Ajayi was the Accord Party candidate in the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti.

He joined the APC recently and declared his governorship bid. He, however, withdrew from the race before commencement of sale of nomination and expression of interest forms.

Fayemi, a former Governor of the Ekiti state and the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming governorship election arrived at late Ajayi’s house around Olorunkemi, Area Elebu in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital with some of his aides.

Fayemi, while speaking called Kole Ajayi a responsible, hardworking man who is passionate about the growth of Ekiti.
