The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday granted waivers to former governor Rashidi Ladoja, Engr. Seyi Makinde and other returnee members.
The constitution of the party stipulates that a member of the party will need to remain a member for two consecutive years before he could contest any elective election.
Ladoja and Makinde recently rejoined PDP from Accord and Social Democratic Party, SDP, respectively.
Beneficiaries include Ladoja who is vying for the party chairmanship; Makinde and others in other states who returned or decamped to the party.
The waivers also grant the receivers same privileges as those enjoyed by existing members of the party.
The party has, however, approved December 9th, 2017 for its convention.
