Oyo state government has, on Wednesday, commissioned a Partnership for Expanded Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene solar-powered borehole at Temidire Ayinde in Ogo Oluwa local government area of Oyo state.
The borehole which was commissioned by the chairman of the Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (OYRUWASSA) was constructed by the Federal Ministry of Water and jointly supervised by OYRUWASSA.
While speaking, the chairman of OYRUWASSA, Engineer Najeem Omorinde said the boreholes are thirty nine in number and are located in thirteen different local government areas across Oyo state.
Omorinde said more than five of the boreholes have been completed and ready for commissioning.
He added that the one located at Oniyeye too has been commissioned for usage.
While speaking on behalf of the community, Oba Oladele Olayode John, the Onitemidire of Temidire land thanked Governor Seyi Makinde and OYRUWASSA for locating the borehole in his community.
He said with the location of the borehole, people of the community will have access to portable water supply.
