A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo state, Chief Bayo Lawal, has expressed displeasure over the way former governor Rashidi Ladoja and Chief Michael Koleoso are handling issues in the state chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Ladoja and Koleoso groups had on Tuesday released names of the state executives without involving other groups in the party.

According to Lawal, who is also a prominent member of Ladoja’s group, the purported state Congress held by the factions loyal to Ladoja and Koleosho is illegal and not in accordance with the party guidelines and constitution.

In a chat with Sunrise Bulletin, the Kishi born politician explained that ”I have personally told the chairman of the caretaker committee Dr Femi Majekodunmi that the state congress conducted by the Ladoja and Koleosho factions in ADC is not legal and not in line with party guidelines.

Speaking on where he belongs in the ADC, he said ”I have not taken sides in the matter but standing with the law, and as far as the law is concerned, the state congress held by the Ladoja and Koleosho factions in ADC is illegal.”

Though he said he is still loyal to Ladoja, Lawal and other loyalists of the former governor have concluded plans to lead his followers into an alliance with the Unity Forum, a breakaway faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He was said to be unhappy with the way Ladoja prompted him to put his integrity at stake before members of the Unity Forum.

It was learnt that when members of the Unity Forum got wind of plans by Ladoja and Koleosho to impose their stalwarts as party executives, without following due process, they expressed their opposition.

It was  gathered that, this led to an agreement between the groups to postpone the primaries originally scheduled to hold on Tuesday 29th.

At a meeting held on the day of the supposed state congress by the Unity Forum to decide a way forward, Ladoja was said to have sent a delegation led by Lawal to the meeting.

Lawal was said to have assured that a common ground would be reached that would be beneficial to all parties concerned.

Unknown to other groups within the party, Ladoja and Koleosho had other plans. They would release names of their loyalists as executives of the party in the state .
