INEC Identifies Flash Points To Secure During Oyo Elections

Flash Points that could constitute security threat during the forthcoming 2019 general election have been identified as part of the measures put in place to ensure hitch free general election.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, Barr Mutiu Agboke made this known in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State after an Inter – Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security ( ICCES ) meeting,with all security agents, which was held at the Conference Room of the Commission today, 10th January.

Barr. Agboke who also served as the co-chairman of the committee, re-emphazised the strategic importance of the committee which was designed to provide security for the entire gamut of the electoral process in the State.

The Chairman of the Committee, Commissioner of Police in the State, Abiodun Odude reassured the general public that the committee would ensure that security of all electoral staff including sensitive and non sensitive materials were adequately guaranteed before during and after the general election.

Other members of the committee present at the meeting included representatives from the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Nigerian Army Captain S. Isa, DSS, John Sokoya,
Immigration, Umoru H.O, Prisons Service, CP Tosin Akinrujomu, FRSC Commander, C.C Alao, NSCDC Commandant, Dr Adenoye and NYSC State Coordinator, Eniola Ambekemo serving as an observer during the meeting.
