Cybercrimes: NCC Holds Stakeholders Forum In Ibadan

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on Thursday held a stakeholders’ forum in Ibadan on how curb the menace of cybercrimes among the millions of telecoms subscribers across the country.

Professor Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, during the essence of the meeting is to put a stop to the menace of cybercrimes in the society.

Speaking through his Deputy Director of Consumer Affairs Bureau, Mr. Ismail Adedigbam at the 102 edition of Consumer Outreach Program under the theme, “Militating effects of cybercrimes: Roles of Telecom Consumers”, held at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, he explained that the menace had caused a lot of damages to many consumers who have lost either money of other materials.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) held its 102th edition of Consumer Outreach programme at Mapo Hall, Ojo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

He urged telecom consumers to make use of the toll-free 622 which is available 24/7 except public holidays and weekends.

At the event were the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, High Chief Lekan Balogun, Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism in Oyo state, Mr. Toye Arulogun, telecoms operators, market women and hundreds of consumers.
