Saki West chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress has expelled the Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Musa AbdWasi over anti-party activities.
This was made known in a release by the party’s chapter in Saki West Local Government which was signed by the secretary and chairman.
Musah AbdulWasi represents Saki West state constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
InsideOYO.com gathered that the party’s expulsion is coming after the Deputy Speaker led 15 other members of the house to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Recall that InsideOYO.com had earlier reported that AbdulWasi whom many expected to emerge the speaker after the demise of the former speaker, Rt Hon Micheal Adeyemo did not contest in the election which led to the emergence of the former Minority leader, Hon Olagunju Joshua Ojo.
His decision not to contest has not been known till today as he refused to talk on it. However, an in house person who does not want his name mentioned told insideOYO.com that his decision not to contest is due to alleged imposition of the former Minority Leader, as the “governor’s candidate”.
When contacted, Abdulwasi Musah told insideOYO.com that he is not aware of any expulsion. And that he has not been given any letter to that effect.
“I’m not aware of any expulsion. I have not received any letter or release to that effect.
“As far as the House of Assembly is concerned, I remain a member of the APC, that can be seen from the vote and proceedings of the house.”
A look at the Vote and Proceedings of the house by inisdeOYO.com showed that the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Musa AbdWasi remains in the APC along side the majority leader, Hon Kehinde Subair while the speaker remains in the Labour party the platform they were all elected .
